Pea protein peptide buyers often begin with protein and peptide percentages, but commercial success depends on whether the delivered lots behave consistently in the intended formulation. For import projects in Latin America, the supplier audit should connect analytical data with solubility, taste, process behavior and traceability.
Confirm the analytical basis
Winstar Ingredients’ current product positioning includes pea protein peptide with minimum 90% protein and minimum 90% peptide content. Before comparing suppliers, request the current TDS and a representative COA and confirm the test methods, reporting basis and agreed acceptance limits. Numbers produced by different analytical methods may not be directly comparable.
Ask what the peptide profile means for the application
A single peptide-content value cannot describe the complete molecular distribution. When relevant and available, review molecular-weight distribution or degree-of-hydrolysis information. Then connect that information to the buyer’s real objective, such as rapid dispersion, a nutrition powder, a beverage system or another food application.
Design a sample-to-bulk comparison
- Keep a retained portion of the approved sample.
- Use the same water, pH, temperature and mixing sequence for each test.
- Record dissolution time, foam, sediment, turbidity and viscosity.
- Evaluate aroma, bitterness and aftertaste at the intended use level.
- Repeat after the expected heat treatment and storage period.
The commercial lot should be assessed against written acceptance criteria, not memory. If the formula contains minerals, acids, sweeteners, flavors or stabilizers, test them together because matrix effects can change performance.
Review manufacturing and quality documents
The qualification file may include the grade-specific specification, sample COA, microbiological and contaminant limits, allergen statement, non-GMO information, origin details, packing, storage, shelf life and lot-traceability records. Market-specific labeling and import requirements must be checked by the buyer for Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina or the relevant Caribbean market.
Set commercial controls before purchase
Agree which specification version governs the order, how representative samples are selected and how an out-of-specification result will be handled. Confirm packaging, quantity, production preparation and freight separately. A successful laboratory sample is an important step, but it is not a substitute for pilot production and commercial acceptance criteria.
